Resume Branding is Not Insane

It has been slightly over a month since my last post. A lot has happened for Persona Affairs and fortunately the job market. For the past two years we have prepared our career branding clients for the well anticipated turn in the job market. We have hosted resume branding workshops, social media seminars, interview coaching and resume reviewing sessions to help job seekers elevate their brand presence. Key term is brand.

We have painfully watched countless professionals stubble throughout the job search process, without knowing their true market value. Juggling financial burdens and fighting the urge to apply for every position that crosses their path is a dreadful reality for many. Frustration is preventing highly qualified candidates from throwing a hat in the employement ring. We understand Why, but we prefer the approach of exploring the answers to the “Why Not” question and glean methods to make your personality standout from the crowd of job seekers. Good news…

The tide has now turned and employers are hiring again. This is an excellent time for the unemployed, underemployed and professionals who are ready to take their career to the next level. Key term is ready.

With that said, my goal is to create blog posts that speak in plain terms about executing proven branding strategies for getting noticed in today’s job market. Not from a gimmick perspective, but from a position of trust, honesty and respect. We want to help readers consider all of their options and not settle for positions that are not aligned with their skills.

As a certified mediator, employer and former recruiter it is easy for me to see both sides of the hiring table. I understand the desires of a job seeker and empathize with employers needs. Our resume branding process meets everyone in the middle, but only works for people who are ready to see themselves in a marketable light. Hopefully you will enjoy our branding posts and see personal branding and social media as tools to get you the job of your dreams. Stop spinning your wheels. It’s time for something new.
